i know, what the heck was i doing checking the npr? anyway, if you go to their archives, you will be able to listen to whole concerts by amazing artists (interpol, bloc party, the decemberists) and whole albums in their entirety... the catch: the npr uses smil (pronounced "smile"), which only real audio players more or less recognise. i opted to do this: save the smil files on your desktop, open them with notepad and find the .rm url in it and then use net transport (free!) to transform the stream into a playable file.
